Life in the Dorms

Living on Campus

For students residing on campus, our dormitories provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming living environment. ABU offers separate residence halls for men and women, situated at the highest geographical point in Arlington. This prime location offers stunning panoramic views and convenient access to numerous attractions throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

  • All appliances must be approved by the Dormitory Supervisor. The Dormitory Supervisor has the authority to veto any appliance and order it removed.

  • Students who are not living at home with parents, grandparents, or legal guardian MAY REQUEST permission to live off campus if one or more of the following requirements are met:

    1. Must be of at least Junior status.

    2. Must be at least 21 years of age.

    3. Married.

    4. If any of the above criteria are NOT MET, the student’s request will only be considered if the dorms are above full capacity.

    5. Must complete and submit a campus housing waiver application signed by the student, parent, or guardian seeking permission for the student to live off campus.

    6. The campus housing waiver MUST be submitted to VP of Student Affairs BEFORE any lease or like arrangement is made by the student.

If the request is made by a student who does not meet the above criteria and will not be living at their permanent home address, the student must submit a dorm waiver form (campus housing waiver application) for approval by administration. If approved, the student will be required to pay a $500 waiver fee for each semester they choose to live off campus, which will be billed to their account.
