Spiritual life
Faith is an integral part of your college experience. Our dedicated Spiritual Formation course is designed to foster spiritual growth by guiding students in their walk with Christ through church involvement, biblical study, and Christian service. Additionally, through chapel services, discipleship programs, and other impactful spiritual events, students will have the opportunity to deepen their faith and take meaningful steps in their relationship with the Lord.
Discipleship through Student life
Discipleship is at the heart of student life at ABU. Through chapel services, small groups, campus events, and intentional relationships, students are encouraged to grow in their faith and live it out daily. Student life provides opportunities for mentorship, accountability, and spiritual growth, helping students deepen their walk with Christ while building a supportive community.
-
Chapel is twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM.
-
Students can get involved in a local church by connecting with the ministries that visit our chapel services or by reaching out to our Campus Pastor, Mike Sellers, who helps students find a church community and opportunities to serve.
-
Service hours are volunteer hours that all students complete each semester as part of the Spiritual Formation course. These hours give students the opportunity to serve others and live out their faith. Pastor Mike Sellers can help connect students with service opportunities both on and off campus.
Mike Sellers
CAMPUS PASTOR
Pastor Mike Sellers served in multiple Baptist churches over his ministry career. He and his wife, Ginger, have 4 married children, with 12 grandkids and 1 great grandkid (plus one more on the way). He became a believer at the age of 16 and surrendered his life to ministry at 17. He started serving in the ministry at the age of 19 as a minister of music and youth. He received a Bachelor of Church Music degree from Baptist Bible Institute in Florida and a Master’s in Religious Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans, Louisiana. His love for music and worship, plus his passion to see people grow in their faith, have driven his desire to disciple and lead people to grow closer to the Lord. His transition to becoming a Campus Pastor at Arlington Baptist University was a natural transition for him, as he and Ginger have always loved ministering and caring for young adults. He hopes that the Lord will allow him to connect with students and direct them to grow in their relationship with the Lord through spiritual formation.
