Master of Arts – Biblical and Theological Studies
The Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies provides an extension to the programs offered at the bachelor’s level. The seminar-based courses offered at the master’s level will not only complement the content acquired at the bachelor level but will enhance the student’s ability to make applicable the principles and concepts previously acquired.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Assess and apply critical thinking skills to articulate the conservative Christian worldview within the context of a secular society for evangelism and missions.
Develop a regular devotional and prayer life for personal and familial discipleship within the local church context.
Apply hermeneutical principles to examine the biblical texts, genres, and narratives to communicate the authorial intent and practical application of the inerrant Scripture.
Examine the unique claims of Jesus Christ as the central point of history as Messiah, including creation, prophecy, salvation, and reigning Coming King from ABU’s premillennial perspective.
Identify and communicate key doctrines and practices of the free church / Baptist historical tradition and subsequent polity, within the larger context of Church history.
Compare and contrast major evangelical theological systems, competing religions, and aberrations, to construct a conservative apologetic and defense.
Master of Divinity (MDiv)
The Master of Divinity degree is a 72-hour program providing the student with a comprehensive expositional study of the entire Bible and a basic overview of core theological study. The student can further enhance their degree with one of a growing list of concentrations. It is possible for a student, taking two courses per block, to complete their MDiv in four years.

Examine the unique claims of Jesus Christ as the central point of history as Messiah, including creation, prophecy, salvation, and reigning coming King from ABU’s premillennial perspective as it relates to the specified concentration.
Identify and communicate key doctrines and practices of the free church / Baptist historical tradition and subsequent polity, within the larger context of Church history as pertinent to the area of study.
Compare and contrast major evangelical theological systems, competing religions and aberrations, for the purpose of constructing a conservative apologetic and defense of the field of study.
Demonstrate completion of at least one (1) MDIV Concentration Outcome.
